At the Trace Awards, Nigerian singer Oladapo Daniel Oyebanjo, popularly known as Dbanj, referred to his close friend and fellow singer, Davido, as “Baba Ibeji” after learning about Davido’s recent twin babies’ arrival in the United States. The Trace Awards is a platform that celebrates African and Afro-inspired music and artists’ creativity, talent, and influence and was held in Kigali, Rwanda.
Earlier, Naijalog reported the joyous news of Davido’s twins’ birth in the United States. Davido shared his thoughts on the extraordinary situation, saying, “It is very hard. A lot of people that those things would never want to believe in God in your life. But to still have faith and do what I love having a great team around me; I was just focusing. Now we are almost at the finish line, and this is a story I want people to see and watch. When my wife and I found out that we were having twins, we were shaking. Then it was in the same month. My son died last year in October, and my wife gave birth this year in October, so it is crazy.”
A few days later, D’banj congratulated Davido on his twins’ birth at the Trace Awards. The awards ceremony was co-hosted by D’banj and Angolan global supermodel Maria Borges. It featured an impressive lineup of performers, including Davido, Yemi Alade, Black Sherif, Kizz Daniel, and more. You can watch the video below.
