The mother of Nigerian music sensation Ayra Starr has urged women aged 40 and above to embrace TikTok, highlighting its positive effects on mental health and creativity.
In a recent video shared on her page, she proudly referred to herself as a “Gen Z mummy” and expressed deep appreciation for the platform.
She explained that being on TikTok has transformed her outlook on life, keeping her engaged and more active than she ever anticipated.
“I feel so privileged to be part of TikTok. The love and kindness from the community have been overwhelming. If your mother is in her 40s, 50s, or 60s, encourage her to join TikTok—it’s great for mental well-being!” she said.
She went on to share how the platform has influenced her mindset, inspiring her to think more creatively about fashion, self-expression, and personal growth.
“TikTok has changed the way I think. Now, I’m constantly thinking about creativity, how I want to dress, look, and innovate. Older women have so much wisdom to share—they don’t have to dance like me, but they can bring their experiences to the platform,” she added.
"If your mum is between 40-60 years old, encourage them to be on TikTok because it helps them mentally"
