Famous Nigerian singer Ayra Starr has officially confirmed that she has relocated from Nigeria to New York City.
The 23-year-old star made the revelation during her recent appearance on Hot 93.7FM’s Buck N Regg show.
Ayra shared that she has always felt a strong connection to New York, adding that she moved there permanently a few weeks ago.
In her words: “I live in New York now, I officially moved in less than two months ago. I’m always in New York regardless, it reminds me so much of Lagos. There are many Nigerians here, so it feels like home.”
The Mavin-signed artiste also explained that although she was initially unsure about relocating, the city eventually won her over.
She continued: “I was skeptical about moving here even around that time I remember just being on stage and feeling I might move here. It feels like a moment of sunder, and I was like I really like it here.”
Ayra Starr added that she is focused and intentional about her goals: “I know why I am here. I know my priorities. And I’m here for a good time.”
