Chelsea fullback Ashley Cole has been struck by an illness scare ahead of England’s Euros opener against France.
The Chelsea left-back missed training in Poland yesterday and remained in the team hotel last night while the rest of the squad attended a Krakow civic function.
England’s medical staff will assess Cole, 31, before deciding whether he is able to train this morning, says The Sun.
The defender is still expected to face France in Donetsk on Monday but his absence from training will not have helped Roy Hodgson’s plans to ensure his back four is organised ahead of the tough clash with Les Bleus.
