Yoruba actress and filmmaker Ashabi Simple has shared details about her past relationship with singer Portable, sparking widespread reactions online.
In a recent video interview, the Nollywood actress spoke about their relationship and addressed questions about whether the singer had promised to marry her. She suggested that she would not have entered the relationship if such assurances were not made.
Ashabi also alleged that Portable took advantage of her because she was younger at the time. Despite this, she still spoke positively about certain aspects of his personality, describing him as someone who could be caring.
The actress, who previously made headlines after a public disagreement with Portable that reportedly led to his arrest, also spoke about her personal choices regarding relationships. She explained that her work schedule influenced her decision to be in a polygamous relationship, as she believed it allowed more flexibility given the demands of her career.
Ashabi also revealed that Portable has more than ten children and confirmed that they are no longer together. According to her, she chose to step away from the relationship to test her ability to succeed independently. When asked if reconciliation was possible, she did not give a definite answer.
Speaking in Yoruba, Ashabi Simple said in part,
“Portable chanced me, he saw me at my younger age and took advantage of it, and he used to be a caring person. Portable has 10 children at age 32 and mine is 2 out of them.”
