Actor Yul Edochie has been creating a buzz on social media with his recent comments on the tradition of worshipping deities. The renowned actor and minister spoke out against the practice of burning shrines and deities. He emphasized that there are many deities that exist which are not evil and deserve respect. Yul Edochie believes that foreigners have misled people into thinking that their deities are evil, when in fact this is not the case. He cautioned people against destroying idols or deities simply because they do not understand them.
He wrote:
“Stop burning shrines and deities. Not all deities are evil.
Oyibo convinced us that all our ways are evil so we could discard our ways & embrace theirs, making slavery easy. We need to wake up & start embracing our tradition.
Many deities acknowledge God Almighty.
Burning them could bring you perpetual trouble.
If you don’t understand something, leave it. if it’s not disturbing you, don’t disturb it.
