A late equaliser from Martin Demichelis earned Manchester City a draw at Arsenal in an entertaining encounter.
The champions took the lead through Sergio Aguero’s neat finish from Jesus Navas’s cross after Danny Welbeck had struck the post on his Arsenal debut.
The Gunners fought back though Jack Wilshere’s fine individual goal and a crisp volley from Alexis Sanchez.
But an unmarked Demichelis rose to head in a corner, and City twice struck the post in a frenetic finale.
