The Nigeria Army says it has finally liberated Mubi, the second largest town in Adamawa state. from the clutches of Boko Haram.
Major-General Chris Olukolade, the director of defence information, disclosed this in a statement he released to newsmen.
“Troops operating in the north-east have completed the operation to clear Mubi of terrorists who have been operating in the town and environs,” he said in a statement.
“A mop up operation is ongoing to apprehend members of the group who might be lurking around after being dislodged during the coordinated air and land operations in the area.”
More than 10 communities in Adamawa, Yobe and Borno are under the control of the sect , however Olukolade has pledged the readiness of the military to take control of all the communities that have been lost to Boko Haram.
