Apple Music Crowns Burna Boy as the Biggest Nigerian Artist of All Time, Unveils Top 10 Most-Streamed Nigerian Acts

Grammy Award-winning singer Damini Ogulu, known as Burna Boy, has been declared the greatest Nigerian artist of all time on Apple Music.

In celebration of Nigeria’s 64th Independence Day, the streaming platform revealed its top 10 most-streamed Nigerian artists and songs of all time.

Burna Boy claimed the number one spot, followed by Wizkid, Davido, Rema, and Asake. Rounding out the top 10 are Tems, Omah Lay, Fireboy DML, BNXN, and Olamide.

Rema’s remix of “Calm Down” featuring Selena Gomez was named the most-streamed Nigerian song on Apple Music, followed by Burna Boy’s “Last Last” and Wizkid’s “Essence” featuring Tems. Other tracks in the top 10 include “Free Mind” by Tems at number four, Burna Boy’s “Ye” in fifth place, “Location” by Dave featuring Burna Boy, Rema’s “Calm Down,” Ayra Starr’s “Rush,” Burna Boy’s “On The Low,” and “Come Closer” by Wizkid featuring Drake.

Apple Music also celebrated Nigeria’s rich cultural diversity by highlighting nine Afrobeats stars from different regions: 2Baba (Jos), Omah Lay (Port Harcourt), Odumodublvck (Abuja), Shallipopi (Benin City), Seyi Vibez (Lagos), Jeriq (Enugu), Bloody Civilian (Abuja), and Qing Madi (Benin City).
