Tim Cook, Apple CEO has joined Facebook CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, and Silicon Valley’s out cry on President Trump’s immigration ban. He told staff that the company ‘wouldn’t exist’ without immigration and insisted the firm does not support the policy.
In an email to workers, obtained by Recode, he wrote: ‘Apple would not exist without immigration, let alone thrive and innovate the way we do.
‘I’ve heard from many of you who are deeply concerned about the executive order issued yesterday restricting immigration from seven Muslim-majority countries. I share your concerns. It is not a policy we support.’
He then quoted Dr. Martin Luther King in the note to employees: ‘In the words of Dr. Martin Luther King, ‘We may have all come on different ships, but we are in the same boat now.’
Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg and Google CEO Sundar Pichai lead the outcry from business leaders.
