Governor Ben Ayade’s senatorial ambitions have been defeated by the incumbent senator representing Cross River North, Sen. Jarigbe Agom-Jarigbe.
According to Dr. Emmanuel Emanghe, the returning officer for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Ayade received 56,595 votes on Saturday, February 25, while Agom-Jarigbe of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) received 76,145 votes.
Emanghe made the announcement on February 27th.
