The recent defection of two Senators, one from the All Progressives Congress(APC) and the other from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the Accord Party is sending jitters down the spine of the APC top echelon in the South-West, hence the opposition party is doing everything to woo the founder of Accord, Senator Rasheed Ladoja to team up with them for the 2015 elections.
APC ,a source told us in recent times has been sending emissaries to negotiate with the former one-term governor of Oyo State, who has declared he will contest for governor in 2015.
Bola Tinubu, former governor of Ekiti State, Mr. Segun Oni, the national vice-chairman of APC in the South-West and Chief Pius Akinyelure we gathered held a meeting with Ladoja on October 3, who now has Senator Olufemi Lanlehin formerly of the defunct ACN and former PDP’s Senator Ayo Adeseun in his fold.
Pundits also say Accord is fast become more popular in the entire South-West.
People the APC are using to woo Ladoja include a former Secretary to the Oyo State Government (SSG), former Governor of Osun State who recently defected to the APC, but we gathered he has noted bucked and his making demands which the APC may not be able to fulfill.
Naijalog recalls that Ladoja’s Accord had a pact with the defunct ACN, and was instrumental to the installation of Oyo State’s present Governor Isiaka Ajimobi.
But the million dollar question is, will he forgo his political dreams or will the APC field him for elective office?
