Anambra State has taken center stage in Nigeria’s beauty pageant scene after two of its queens claimed the nation’s most prestigious crowns for 2025.
Faith Ekwebenam emerged as Miss International Nigeria 2025, triumphing over contestants from Lagos, Bauchi, Edo, Cross River, and Nasarawa at Sunday’s grand finale. She will go on to represent Nigeria at the 63rd Miss International pageant in Tokyo, Japan, on November 27.
Meanwhile, in Lagos, Onyinyechi Basil won the title of Miss Universe Nigeria 2025, edging out Miss Lagos, Damilola Bolarinde, in a nail-biting final. Miss Bayelsa, Fortune Kurobo, and Miss Ogun, Irene Ikediashi, also secured spots in the top four.
This double victory gives Anambra both of Nigeria’s foremost international beauty crowns, a milestone many observers describe as “unprecedented.”
With Ekwebenam and Basil preparing to compete on the global stage later this year, pageant fans believe Nigeria is set to shine brighter than ever internationally.
