Alan Fisher, an Irish chef, has succeeded in taking the Guinness World Record title for the longest cooking time from Nigeria’s renowned culinary expert, Hilda Baci. The Guinness World Records made this announcement on their official Twitter page.
In his restaurant in Japan, Alan Fisher cooked for an impressive duration of 119 hours and 57 minutes, surpassing Hilda’s previous record of 93 hours and 11 minutes. Not only did he break her record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual, but he also set a new record for the longest baking marathon by an individual.
The news of Hilda Baci being dethroned as the former Guinness World Record holder for the longest individual cooking marathon has prompted numerous Nigerians to share their thoughts in the comments.
See some below:
@unotimmy asked: What about the rules of not applying until after a year?
@47kasz insisted: We don’t know him & we don’t care. Hilda is the queen
@thepoetpreneur asked: What about Chef Dammy’s record?
You have cheated us. She cooked for seven days.
@effizzzyy wrote: Records are meant to be broken, Hilda has her plaque at home and her name will be remembered forever. Anyone having problem with this needs to realise it’s not their birthright. 🫶🏻❤️
@DukeDarls advised: Dear, Alan Fisher. Before you cross the main road I’d advise you to watch your left and your right. Have a great day ahead.
