`Serious concerns have emerged after individuals who claim to be students of Adeleke University alleged that they are living under conditions they described as “dehumanizing.” According to them, persistent problems such as the lack of water and electricity have been affecting their daily lives and even preventing some students from attending lectures.
They further claimed that many students are afraid to speak openly about the situation because they fear being expelled by the school’s management.
A video currently circulating online has intensified the conversation after people identifying themselves as students of the institution shared their experiences and concerns about life on campus.
The private university, located in Ede, was founded by businessman Adedeji Adeleke, who is also the father of Afrobeats superstar Davido.
In the viral clip, the complainant alleged that although students reportedly pay high tuition fees every year, some essential amenities are allegedly not provided consistently.
According to the message shared with the video, students reportedly pay at least ₦2.5 million annually to study at the institution.
Despite the high fees, the complainant claimed that several students continue to face daily challenges while trying to live and study on campus.
“Adeleke University with suffering and smiling. They pay nothing less than 2.5 million per year to be constantly treated like animals,” the message read.
The complainant also alleged that access to basic services such as water and electricity is often unreliable, which reportedly makes simple daily tasks difficult for students.
According to the message, these challenges sometimes prevent students from maintaining normal routines or attending classes.
“Students can’t make it to class because something as simple as water, light, they can’t provide for them,” the complainant stated.
The message further raised concerns about other aspects of student welfare on campus. The complainant alleged that the institution’s food services and medical facilities are not adequate for students who rely on them.
“Their food and medical system is bad,” the complainant added.
As of the time this report was written, the management of Adeleke University had not issued any official response to the allegations circulating online.
Another issue mentioned in the message was the alleged fear among students about speaking out publicly. According to the complainant, some students believe that raising complaints openly could lead to disciplinary action.
“Every student is so scared to speak out because they expel them the moment they do,” the message alleged.
Because of this fear, the complainant claimed that many students prefer to remain anonymous while sharing their experiences online.
