Keyamo emphasized that disrupting flight operations would negatively impact both foreigners and locals, tarnishing the country’s reputation. He made these remarks during the Ministerial Retreat of the Ministry in Effurun, Uvwie local government area of Delta State on Thursday. Keyamo clarified that the aviation sector was not implicated in the recent incident involving the assault of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) President, Joe Ajaero, in Imo State.
Keyamo urged the Labor Movement to refrain from self-destruction in the realm of politics, stressing the distinction between the Labor Movement and the Labor Party (LP). He condemned Ajaero’s mistreatment in Imo, emphasizing that the ongoing situation is driven by politics, not a battle for workers’ rights.
He specifically stated, “Aviation was not involved in the alleged molestation of the labor leader. Please, leave aviation alone. In targeting aviation, it affects both foreigners. They are disrupting the entire country.” Keyamo called for unity among labor leaders and cautioned against bringing politics into the aviation sector, highlighting that the current situation is primarily political and not a labor movement issue.
