The President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Emeka Rollas, has clarified the guild’s position regarding its limitations in pursuing action against Adanma Luke following the tragic death of actor Junior Pope.
Adanma Luke, who had been previously suspended by the AGN after the incident, has now had her suspension officially lifted. Speaking in a recent interview on Arise TV, Rollas explained that the guild had no legal authority to take action against Luke.
He highlighted that Junior Pope’s contract with Luke specified that any legal action could only be initiated by his family members, as the late actor was not a paying member of the AGN but rather a contracted actor.
Quoting Rollas: “Based on the contract Junior Pope signed with Adanma Luke, the AGN didn’t have the grounds to sue her; only the deceased’s family can do so.”
