After throwing a microphone at a fan who hurled a drink at her during a performance in Las Vegas over the weekend, rapper Cardi B is now a suspect in a battery investigation.
The mother of two was sprayed by a drink thrown by a fan during a performance at Drai’s Beachclub on Saturday, and was then spotted throwing the microphone from the stage.
The woman who was struck by the microphone reported the incident to Las Vegas Metro PD the next day, according to TMZ.
The woman in issue has since asserted on social media that she was not the one who threw the drink at Cardi, despite the fact that she informed police she had been injured by a microphone thrown from the stage.
She tweeted a video of the event with the caption: “When I’m the one who gets smoked by the microphone but didn’t throw the drink,” claiming she was “bruised and sore.”
In the footage, an audience member is seen throwing liquid from a cup at the American rapper mid-performance, causing her to ignite the stage.
Cardi, who was apparently stunned by the event, threw her microphone at the guy and seemed to speak angrily at them. The woman was quickly led outside the building by security.
