Nollywood actor and director, Afeez Owo, has finally opened up about the real reason behind his separation from wife and actress, Mide Martins, nine years after their marital crisis first made headlines.
Back in April 2016, Mide publicly confirmed their split, alleging that Afeez had moved out of their home following a disagreement about their children’s welfare.
However, during a recent appearance on the Behind The Fame podcast, Afeez revealed that the issue was blown out of proportion due to social media. He admitted he left the house in anger, intending to stay away briefly, but extended his absence after Mide’s public post fueled the controversy.
According to him, the incident marked their first and only major fight as a couple, and they eventually reconciled after Mide apologized. He stressed that it was a private matter that should never have been taken online, as social media only worsened the situation.
Mide Martins, who is the daughter of the late actress Funmi Martins, married Afeez Owo, her mother’s former manager, in 2003.
