Nollywood star Adesua Etomi-Wellington has shared a chilling account of a near-death experience that occurred in June while she was in the United Kingdom with her husband, Banky W, and their two sons.
In a heartfelt post on Instagram, the actress revealed that she had to undergo emergency surgery following what she described as a “horrific incident”—one that could have easily ended her life.
“I could have lost my life in June of this year. The surgery was ironically the least dramatic part of what I went through,” she wrote, expressing profound gratitude to God for keeping her alive.
The day that changed everything
Adesua explained that the life-threatening event happened during a trip to the UK for two speaking engagements. She recounted that if even the smallest detail of that day had gone differently, she might not have made it.
The actress said she could “trace God’s hands all over the situation,” emphasizing that the experience deepened her awareness of divine protection and reaffirmed her faith.
The Wedding Party star added that the ordeal left her more spiritually grounded, stating that she now believes more than ever that “God is real.”
A renewed sense of purpose
Reflecting on the experience, Adesua encouraged her followers to live with greater kindness, patience, and appreciation for life.
“Let’s be softer, kinder, gentler, forgiving, patient, loving, and peaceful. I will never take another day for granted, neither should you,” she wrote.
Having previously opened up about her pregnancy struggles and her husband’s cancer battle, the actress said her journey has taught her to live with gratitude, faith, and renewed purpose.
