Adeola, the long-missing daughter of veteran Nollywood actress Jumoke George, has finally returned to Nigeria after being trafficked to Mali four years ago.
The heartwarming update was shared by Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairperson of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), via X (formerly Twitter) on Monday.
“Breaking! Adeola, daughter of popular actress Jumoke George, who had been missing for four years after being trafficked to Mali, is finally back home. We just received her, alongside Biola Adebayo, who first shared the story, and actor Adeniyi Johnson,” she wrote.
Jumoke George had previously recounted her daughter’s disappearance in an emotional interview on Talk to B, a show hosted by Biola Adebayo. She revealed that Adeola, her eldest child, had been living with her grandmother in Ibadan before vanishing after expressing her intent to visit Lagos.
Years later, Adeola reached out to her family, seeking forgiveness and revealing that she had left the country with friends in search of better opportunities.
During the same interview, Jumoke George candidly discussed her own battles with ill health and financial hardship. She explained that her medical condition forced her to decline acting roles, return payments, and even borrow money to fund critical treatments—including a series of upcoming tests estimated at N400,000.
The actress also shared that any money she managed to earn from occasional work was funneled into searching for her missing daughter. Biola Adebayo confirmed that Jumoke George is currently receiving treatment at a government hospital in Lagos.
