Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has lauded the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, for his remarkable contributions to preserving Yoruba heritage and promoting Nigeria’s cultural identity worldwide.
In a statement celebrating the monarch’s 51st birthday, Adeleke described the Ooni as a beacon of peace, unity, and cultural renaissance whose leadership continues to inspire both at home and abroad.
According to a message issued by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, the governor noted that the Ooni’s reign has gone beyond traditional duties, becoming a platform for societal transformation and reconciliation.
“Kabiyesi has become a voice of wisdom and reconciliation whose reign continues to inspire hope for cultural preservation and national cohesion,” Adeleke said.
Ooni commended for youth empowerment and modern leadership
Governor Adeleke praised Oba Ogunwusi’s dedication to empowering young people and promoting cultural diplomacy, saying his efforts have provided opportunities for youths in diverse sectors.
“The Ooni’s reign represents a blend of ancient wisdom and modern vision,” he added. “Through cultural diplomacy and youth inclusion, he has shown that traditional leadership can coexist with innovation and progress.”
Adeleke also applauded the monarch’s commitment to community growth, citing various initiatives that have revitalized Ile-Ife’s social and economic development.
Prayers for continued wisdom and leadership
The governor extended prayers for long life, divine wisdom, and strength for the Ooni as he continues to lead with purpose and promote peace among traditional rulers in Osun State and beyond.
“I join millions of Nigerians to celebrate our royal father,” Adeleke said. “May Almighty God grant Kabiyesi long life, wisdom, and renewed energy to keep advancing the cause of peace and prosperity.”
Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, who ascended the throne in August 2015, has since earned nationwide recognition for his advocacy in cultural preservation, youth development, and national unity.
