Nigerian singer Adekunle Gold has shared a heartfelt message to men on his social media following the tragic death of Idowu Christianah, a student from FUNAAB.
Earlier reports revealed that Christianah went missing on August 19, 2024, after her abductors used her WhatsApp account to contact her parents, sending photos of her in captivity and demanding a ₦1.5 million ransom. Despite accepting a reduced payment of ₦350,000, Christianah was not released and was instead killed.
Investigations later identified Adeleye Ayomide, an undergraduate from Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), as the perpetrator. He abducted, murdered, and buried Christianah on his property. Further reports suggest Ayomide may have been involved in the deaths of his ex-girlfriend in 2018 and his sister in 2020.
Reacting to the news, Adekunle Gold took to his X account to deliver a strong message to men, writing:
“Men, true strength is not about staying silent but about standing up to your friends who abuse, rape, or demean women. Let’s redefine masculinity by holding each other accountable. #JusticeforChristianah.”
