Senator Mohammed Jibrilla has emerged the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, ahead of the Adamawa State governorship bye-election billed for October 11.
He emerged victorious having polled 2, 718 votes ahead of his closest rival, Ibrahim Mijinyawa, who garnered 2,268 votes.
From other results, Boss Mustapha polled 515 votes while another serving Senator representing Adamawa South, Ahmed Barata, polled 452 votes.
Other candidates, Yakubu Tsalla and Emmanuel Bello, polled 147 and 50 votes respectively.
Mohammed Jibrilla, a Senator representing Adamawa north senatorial district will fight it out with the candidate of the Peoples Democratic party (PDP) and acting Governor of the State, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, to complete the term of the impeached APC governor Murtala Nyako.
