Popular Nigerian actress Omowunmi Ajiboye has clarified that she was never married to actor and filmmaker Segun Ogungbe, despite having children together.
This revelation comes nearly two years after their highly publicized breakup.
As previously reported by DAILY POST, Omowunmi faced criticism online in 2023 for allegedly snubbing Segun Ogungbe at her mother’s funeral, while openly acknowledging the presence of MC Oluomo, Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers. Her visible praise of MC Oluomo sparked rumors of a romantic involvement, which she later denied on Instagram.
In the wake of the controversy, Omowunmi stepped back from Nollywood and relocated abroad.
Now speaking in a new interview on Oyinmomo TV, Omowunmi stated that Segun Ogungbe never had any interaction with her family members and insisted that their relationship was never formalized.
“Let me just set the record straight, Segun Ogungbe and I were never married or engaged. We just have kids.
Segun Ogungbe has never met with any of my family members, except a friend of my sibling who lives in Lagos. Segun himself can confirm this.”
She also urged the public to stop the online harassment and allow her to move on peacefully.
