Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has revealed that she was recently invited by the Nigeria Police Force’s National Cybercrime Centre in Abuja over allegations of cyberbullying.
In a statement shared on her Instagram page on Thursday, the actress said the invitation stems from a live video she posted in 2023, where she called on certain individuals to come forward and clear their names in connection to the controversial death of singer Mohbad.
She explained,
“I was recently invited by the Nigeria Police Force, National Cybercrime Centre, Abuja, over petitions bordering on cyberbullying & other allegations concerning the live video I recorded a few years ago.
In that video, I requested certain individuals to make themselves available for investigation into Mohbad’s sudden death in order to prove their innocence or otherwise.”
This development follows the court’s decision in February 2025 to clear Naira Marley and Sam Larry of any involvement in Mohbad’s death. Mohbad passed away in September 2023 under suspicious circumstances, prompting widespread outrage. Footage later emerged showing the artist being harassed by Marley and his associate, Sam Larry, leading to their arrest in October that year.
Iyabo Ojo was vocal in demanding justice for Mohbad and became a leading figure in the public campaign. In December 2023, Naira Marley issued a demand letter to Ojo seeking N500 million in damages and a public apology for defamation. In response, Ojo countersued for N1 billion.
