Popular Nollywood actor Daniel Etim-Effiong has opened up about a brief period in his life when he was involved with multiple women at once, referring to it as a time of exploration and personal growth. Speaking during an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, the actor acknowledged that, by some definitions, he could be considered a former womanizer.
When asked directly if he was ever a womanizer, Etim-Effiong responded with some hesitation, saying, “It depends on your definition,” but admitted that there was a phase in his life where he dated several women simultaneously. However, he emphasized that it didn’t last long and served as a valuable learning experience.
Reflecting on that time, he said, “Yes, they were periods of learning for me. If I gained insight, then they were worthwhile periods.”
He went on to share what those experiences taught him, explaining that things which seem fulfilling on the surface often fail to deliver genuine satisfaction. “On paper, that lifestyle looks appealing, but in practice, it may not be,” he noted.
Etim-Effiong also offered advice to young people, warning against developing habits that can be difficult to break later in life. “It may seem cool to be a player, but once that behavior becomes ingrained, it won’t just disappear after marriage,” he said.
He stressed the importance of building commitment before entering into a serious relationship, warning that a pattern of emotional detachment and avoiding accountability could carry into married life. “If you haven’t learned how to commit before marriage, you’ll find yourself repeating the same patterns—walking away when things get hard, or constantly looking for someone new to fill emotional gaps,” he added.
