It was gathered that gunmen riding in a yet to be ascertained vehicle, double crossed Yemi Odunsanya’s car at about 11.00am on his way to church on Sunday around Badore area in Ajah and whisked him away to an unknown destination.
Following the abduction, the police deployed a team to the area, where they discovered Odunsanya’s Jeep abandoned few metres from the scene of the abduction.
The police spokesperson, Jayieoba Joseph, confirmed the incident, adding that the entire Police Command had been put on red alert to find the victim.
“As for now we can say this is a case of abduction and the entire Lagos State Police Command has been put on alert in order to rescue the victim,” he said.
“As I am talking to you now, a combined team of policemen, from the Lion building, detectives from the RRS and other plain clothes policemen have been deployed to Ajah and environs to mount surveillance and comb the area until the victim is rescued. The Lagos State Police Command is not leaving any stone unturned in checking crime and criminality in the state.”
