The Force Public Relations Officer, FPRO, CSP Frank Mba has debunked as mere rumour media reports that the Inspector General of Police, IGP , Mohammed Abubakar, has proceed on compulsory retirement leave.
He disclosed this on Thursday via an SMS , noting that the Abubakar remained the helmsman of the Police Force.

“The Police High Command is not in receipt of any official communication from the appropriate government quarters informing the IGP of his inevitable glorious retirement from the Force.
“Therefore, IGP MD Abubakar, who was fully on his desk today, has continued to perform his official duties as the 16th Indigenous IGP.
Mba was apparently reacting to newspaper reports purporting that the IGP Abubakar had been ordered to proceed on retirement leave and his immediate subordinate directed to act as IGP.
