Muibat, wife of the Osun State House of Assembly speaker, Mr. Najeem Salaam, was, Saturday, rescued from her abductors along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, at Ogunmakin village in Obafemi-Owode local government area of Ogun State by security operatives who acted on tip-off.
We learnt that two of the alleged kidnappers were shot dead while trying to escape with their victim while three of the kidnappers were reportedly arrested.
Muibat, who is the first wife of the Speaker, was kidnapped in Ejigbo town of Osun, last Tuesday, by a gang of kidnapper and allegedly took her to Ogun State.
Security sources said the rescue operation turned violent when the suspected kidnappers engaged law enforcement agents in a shootout that lasted 30 minutes.
