The proposed takeover of Tranmere Rovers is nearing completion after rapper A$AP Rocky was acquitted of two felony assault charges.
Rocky had been facing allegations related to the use of a semi-automatic weapon during a 2021 altercation with another hip-hop artist in Hollywood. However, on Tuesday, he was found not guilty on both counts.
According to Sky Sports, Rocky—whose real name is Rakim Athelston Mayers—is now set to be part of a consortium preparing to purchase Tranmere Rovers from current owner Mark Palios.
The deal for the League Two club has reportedly been in development for nearly a year, with the consortium planning to acquire over an 80% stake in the club for £15 million.
Despite the takeover, Indonesian investors Santini Group will retain their minority share and remain involved at Prenton Park.
