Ahmed Yusuf, a police officer kidnapped from his home in Kwara state, has been released, according to the state police command.
On Tuesday last week, the Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) was kidnapped in his Oloje, Ilorin home by six armed men.
Kwara state Police spokesman, Ajayi Okasanmi, confirmed the officer’s release, saying ASP Yusuf was rescued in the early hours of yesterday in a bush bordering Kwara and Oyo states.
A police officer who was kidnapped from his home has been released.
He was rescued by the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Monitoring Team attached to the state command, Oyo State Amotekun, and local hunters.
Okasanmi quoted state police Commissioner Paul Odama as saying that “rescuing the kidnapped officer unharmed…is a task that must be accomplished.”
