A man in Ondo has lost his life after getting into a disagreement with a man believed to be his wife’s lover.
Daniel Akinneyin was killed in the Igbokoda environs of the Ilaje Local Government Area of the state after he challenged one Sunday Olumekun.
Olumekun was said to have given the wife of the deceased some money and he wanted to know why. An argument ensued and Olumekun allegedly stabbed Akinneyin to death.
According to the police, the deceased had gone to query 25-year-old Sunday Olumekun, who is suspected of dating Akinneyin’s wife, on why he should give his wife the sum of N100,000 to start a business.
The deceased, according to police sources, was understood to have approached the suspect to query him about the rationale behind the cash and accused the suspect (Olumekun) of going out with his wife as a result of which he gave her the money to start a business.
According to Police first information report, the explanation given by the suspect did not go down well with the deceased as a result of which fighting ensued between the duo. The suspect during the fight reportedly brought out a knife and allegedly stabbed the deceased which caused his untimely death.
Confirming the incident, the Ondo State PPRO, ASP Wole Ogodo said, the suspect has been transferred to the state CID in Akure for further investigation.
