Daniel Oluwefeyiropo (also known as Feyi), the Bishop of Lagos-based Reign Christian Ministry, has been incarcerated in Kirikiri jail after being charged of raping two members of his church.
He appeared before Justice Ramon Oshodi at the Ikeja Sexual Offenses and Domestic Violence Court on Monday.
Oluwafeyiropo had already been accused with rape on two counts, but pleaded not guilty. According to the prosecution, the alleged crimes occurred in June 2020 in Ikota Villa Estate in Lekki, Lagos, and violated Sections 260 (2) of the Criminal Laws of 2015.
Justice Oshodi set bail at 20 million and required two sureties to post bail for the offender.
“The original document of the landed property must be submitted the chief registrar of Lagos State.
The sureties must reside within the court’s jurisdiction and must have three years’ tax payment to the Lagos State,” he said.
The judge additionally ordered Oluwafeyiropo to hand over his international passport to the chief registrar of the court and expedited the trial.
