A Labour Party supporter has climbed Africa’s tallest mountain, Mount Kilimanjaro, to hang the party’s flag ahead of the 2023 general election.
Tanzania’s Mount Kilimanjaro is a dormant volcano. Kibo, Mawenzi, and Shira are its three volcanic cones. It is Africa’s highest mountain and the world’s highest free-standing mountain above sea level.
On Tuesday, October 25, Twitter user @OGersh posted a photo of himself at Uhuru Peak next to the Labour Party flag, claiming that it took him 10 and a half hours to reach the summit.
He tweeted;
“On Fri, 20/10/2022 after 10½ hrs of climbing, hiking and trekking, I made it to the Uhuru Peak of Mount Kilimanjaro, 5,895m above sea level. There is no better place to announce the coming of a New Nigeria than the Rooftop of Africa.”
