Men of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority LASTMA, Iponri had to run for their lives yesterday when a policeman who ran amok stormed their office and began shooting indiscriminately.
Earlier in the day LASTMA officials had spotted a car with number plate JV 23KJA that was illegally parked on a Bus Rapid Transit dedicated lane at Oyingbo, an act which contravenes the Lagos traffic law.
The Mercedes Benz car which belongs to Solomon Awodogan, a policeman was towed to the Iponri office of the agency.
The Police officer was not around when his car was being taken away, later traced his car to the LASTMA office, where he shot sporadically and forcibly ran away with his apprehended vehicle.
After this ignoble act by a law enforcement officer ,LASTMA officials who were unaware of his status were able to trace his record and pinpoint his address using the auto inspector computer software .
According to the General Manager, LASTMA, Mr. Babatunde Edu the policeman who lives at 10, Abolade Street, Mushin will soon be charged to court.
