According to a Nigerian student named Khaleel, an argument erupted on Friday after the university administration decided to form a mixed team.
Sixty Nigerian students from G D Goenka University in Gurugram were allegedly assaulted on their hostel grounds on October 14 by a group of Indian students.
The Nigerians, who are currently staying in various locations in Delhi, are concerned for their safety and have approached the embassy for assistance.
According to the foreign students, the decision to leave campus was made after a football scuffle between them and Indian students.
According to a Nigerian student named Khaleel, an argument erupted on Friday after the university administration decided to form a mixed team.
“Our captain voiced his concerns about the decision to field a mixed team. Our sports officer decided to cancel the game. Suddenly, a group of Indian students appeared on the field and began hitting us with iron rods. The Times of India quoted Khaleel as saying, “There were some outsiders as well.”
Despite the fact that the situation was quickly resolved, Khaleel claims they were attacked by Indian students the next day.
“There were a total of 63 Nigerians.” “We fled the campus out of fear,” Khaleel explained.
“On Saturday (October 15), I was attacked by 4-5 Nigerians who continued to pelt me with blows.” My friends eventually came to my aid. “I then filed a police complaint,” Khan claimed.

According to Assistant Commissioner of Police (South) Upasana Singh, both parties have filed complaints against each other.
“During a football game, the two groups got into an argument that turned into a fight.” “We’re looking through the CCTV footage to find out what happened,” a police official said.
Meanwhile, on Twitter, images of Indian students walking with sticks and rods and attacking Nigerians are being circulated.
