50-year-old christian woman has been stabbed to death by a 22-year-old Afghan migrant at the Austrian refugee centre for reading her Bible.
The 50-year-old woman, who had been invited by Christian residents to discuss the Bible, was stabbed with a knife while visiting an asylum seeker accommodation in Timelkam in Voecklamarkt in Upper Austria.
The suspect heard the woman reading from her Bible when he launched his attack but tragedy was averted as the woman was saved from serious injury by her thick winter coat.
Daily Mail reports that when the yet-to-be named man found out what she was doing, he stormed into the kitchen where the woman was standing and tried to plunge the knife into her upper body.
The suspect, upon interrogation by the police, reportedly accepted he had overreacted but claimed he was suffering from ‘personal problems.’
He was ordered to be remanded in custody and taken to Wels Prison in Upper Austria. Reports say it is unclear if he has been charged yet.
What personal problems could have led him stab the woman to death; he should be brought to justice.
