Five people were stabbed in what was believed to be a house robbery in Garsfontein, east of Pretoria, just after midnight.
Netcare 911’s Chris Botha said two people died on scene.
“When we arrived we found five people were tied, assaulted and stabbed. Two died on scene and three others are in hospital.”
The two deceased are females. The other three are seriously wounded and still in hospital, one of them in a critical condition.
Police spokesperson captain Ilza Jones said police were investigating a case of robbery and murder.
“We appeal to the public to come forward with information that might help solve this case,” she said.
