Five Indian sailors have been kidnapped by pirates from a tanker off the Nigerian coast, a representative of the ship-owning company reports.
No details of the incident are given. Talks have started with the Nigerian government on setting the sailors free.
This year several pirate attacks were registered off the Nigerian coast, including hijacking vessels and kidnapping and killing people. According to the media, all crimes are committed by the same pirate group whose business is theft of oil products for further selling them on the black market.
