Nollywood actress Sarah Martins is currently recovering in the hospital following a frightening health emergency that left her momentarily paralyzed. The Asaba-based screen star revealed that the ordeal began when she woke up unable to feel parts of her body, a sensation she described as feeling completely “lifeless.”
The Collapse
Despite the alarming symptoms, Martins attempted to push through her day. She reportedly visited her stores to handle inventory and conduct staff interviews, but her body eventually gave out.
She recounted the moment:
“I still struggled and went to my stores… that was when I slumped”
32 Negative Tests
Medical professionals left no stone unturned, subjecting the actress to a battery of over 32 comprehensive tests. These screenings covered a wide range of potential ailments, including cancer, fibroids, kidney and liver function, malaria, and typhoid. To her relief, every test result came back negative.
Diagnosis: Extreme Exhaustion
Doctors concluded that Martins was suffering from severe exhaustion. The actress admitted that she had been working without a break since December, stepping in to cover for staff during the holidays without taking time to rest or stretch.
Reflecting on how her drive to help others led to self-neglect, she wrote:
“No days off, no nothing… just a walking corpse working tirelessly to cater for others, forgetting myself”
