A youth corps member, Lilian Ogboona, 29, was on Friday Dec. 7 arraigned before an Igbosere Magistrates’ court in Lagos on charges of soliciting, prostitution and malicious damage to property.
Ogboona, a Batch B corps member who resides at No. 58, Oniru Estate, Lekki Phase 1, Lagos, is facing a two-count charge of soliciting for prostitution and malicious damage of property.
The prosecutor, Insp. Raji Akeem told the court that the defendant allegedly committed the offences on Dec. 5, at her residence.
Akeem said that when the police responded to a disturbance call in the neighbourhood it discovered that the defendant and her roommates were engaged in a fight.
He said that the defendant had gotten into an argument with other roommates and thereafter a fight broke out resulting in the damage of an Ipad tablet valued N170,000.
Other items allegedly damaged were a split air conditioner worth N55,000 and window blinds – N6,000, all properties of Mrs Yvonne Nnami.
Akeem said that the offences committed contravened sections 141 (1) (b) and 348 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Lagos State, 2011.
Ogboona, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The Magistrate, Mr Jacob Adegun granted the accused bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case to Dec.13 for mention.
