Cameroon has secured the release of twenty-seven hostages who were seized by Boko Haram in two separate raids in May and July close to the Nigeria border.
Ten of the hostages are Chinese, the Cameroon presidency said on Saturday.
The Chinese workers were seized in May near the town of Waza, 20 km (12 miles) from the Nigerian border.
Others freed include the wife of Cameroon’s vice-prime minister who was seized in July, the presidency said.
Boko Haram is seeking to establish an Islamist state in Nigeria but its fighters often cross the long and porous border with Cameroon.
