A 27-year-old man simply known as Murtala, has been ordered to remain in prison custody by an Akure Magistrate Court over the murder of a 25-year-old, Mufutau Musiliu in Ondo state.
The accused was alleged to have committed the offence at Oluwatoyin Street, Akinjagunla in Ondo on May 29, 2014.
The police say the accused had conspired with some men who are now on the run to murder Musiliu by hacking him to death.
Murtala however pleaded not guilty to the charge.
He was ordered to be remanded in Olokuta Prison pending an outcome of the legal advice from the office of the director of public prosecution, Ministry of Justice after the counsel to the accused, Taiwo Balogun, asked the court for an adjournment of the matter.
