The Democratic Republic of Congo has confirmed a fresh outbreak of the Ebola virus, with more than 20 suspected cases and 15 reported deaths.
Health Minister officials revealed that samples tested on September 3, 2025, confirmed the virus’s presence.
Reported symptoms include severe fever, vomiting, diarrhea, and internal bleeding.
Authorities disclosed that the country has about 2,000 doses of the Ervebo Ebola vaccine, which will be administered in Kasai to frontline health workers and identified contacts.
This outbreak marks the 16th time Ebola has been recorded in the DRC since it was first discovered in 1976.
