Nollywood actress Grace Bassey, formerly known as Belinda Effah, has achieved a major milestone by joining the U.S. Navy and officially becoming a United States citizen.
The 33-year-old shared the exciting news on Instagram, revealing that she recently completed U.S. Navy boot camp and was sworn in as both a sailor and a citizen. In the post, she expressed heartfelt gratitude to God, her family, and everyone who supported her throughout the journey.
Dressed in her Navy uniform, Grace dedicated the accomplishment to her late father, Naval Commander Asido Bassey Effah, saying:
“Last week, I graduated from U.S. Navy boot camp as a Sailor and took the oath as a citizen of the United States. Nigeria raised me. America challenged me. I stand today stronger and more determined than ever. Thank you to everyone who believed in me. This is just the beginning. In honor of my late father – Naval CDR Asido Bassey Effah.”
Grace Bassey is also widely celebrated in the film industry, having earned accolades such as the Most Promising Actress of the Year at the 9th Africa Movie Academy Awards.
