Popular Afrobeats artist Orezi has opened up about the reason behind his absence from the music spotlight in recent years.
The Ogede hitmaker admitted during an interview on Hip TV’s Trending that a drop in ambition significantly contributed to the decline of his career.
Orezi explained that becoming too comfortable and frequently taking vacations led him to lose the drive required to keep up in the fast-paced music industry. He pointed out that stepping back from competition slowed his progress.
Highlighting the importance of consistency, he praised Davido as a perfect example — noting how the superstar continues to work relentlessly despite his success and fame.
In his words:
“I faded out because I lost ambition and got too comfortable. I was always on vacation, enjoying life. I pulled myself out of the competitive space, and that affected my music career.”
“Competition breeds consistency. Just look at Davido — he has money and fame, yet he still hustles like he’s just starting out.”
