Renowned singer Davido has shed light on why he doesn’t maintain a personal relationship with fellow music stars Wizkid and Burna Boy.
Speaking during an interview on Breakfast Club, Davido was asked to share his thoughts on the popular trio often referred to as the “big three” of Afrobeats.
In response, Davido clarified that while they may be grouped together in the industry, he doesn’t have a close or personal relationship with either Wizkid or Burna Boy. He mentioned that there was a time when they were on friendlier terms, but things have since changed.
He added that the Nigerian music scene has evolved, and the focus is no longer just on the “big three,” as many other talented artists have emerged.
The DMW executive said …
“I don’t have personal relationship with them. I did at some point in time but, I feel that the culture is so big; the conversation is bigger than the big three. There are so many artists like Rena, Ayra Starr. I feel like there’s so much artist to make this about us. And the three of us known that it is bigger than us.”
