Skales, a Nigerian rapper, has revealed how his senior colleague, Olamide, financially rescued him after he quit Empire Mates Entertainment (EME).
Skales stated to media personality Chude Jideonwo in a recent interview that he got homeless and broke after EME refused to renew his contract due to the label’s inability to profit from him.
He stated that Olamide called him and inquired if he was going to film a video for his song ‘Shake Body.’
Skales, on the other hand, responded that he was broke and homeless. Olamide paid for the video shoot, and the song went on to become a hit.
He said:
“My deal with them was done and they refused to continue because I wasn’t doing well at that time.“Olamide contacted me and said he loved one of my songs, Shake Body, and asked if I wasn’t going to shoot the video. I told him I was homeless and couldn’t possibly shoot a video and he sent me money. My God turned my life around after that video shoot”
