The PDP has gained 16 new members from the APC in Sokoto state ahead of the 2023 general elections. The new defectors were ward executives in Sokoto state’s Sabon Birni local government area before joining the PDP. Alhaji Garba Dan-Sanda, who spoke on their behalf, revealed why they left the APC.
Alhaji Garba spoke on behalf of the new members. Dan-Sanda stated that they joined the PDP because of the Tambuwal-led state government’s track record. Dan-Sanda stated that he and the other new members will work closely with the PDP leadership at the ward, local government, and state levels to ensure the success of the party’s candidates in the 2023 general elections.
Alhaji Bello Goronyo, the state PDP Chairman, welcomed the new members at his residence in Sokoto and assured them of equal treatment with all other members of the party. According to The Punch, he stated that their decision to join the PDP will help the party succeed in its struggle ahead of the 2023 elections. According to Legit.ng, this was contained in a statement issued by Hassan Sahabi Sayinnawal. According to the statement, the Sokoto state PDP chairman urged the defectors to continue educating the general public about Governor Aminu Tambuwal’s legacy projects and initiatives.
